Belmont Village Burbank

The reviews and the community's website paint a mostly positive picture of Belmont Village in Burbank. Residents and their families often praise the caring and supportive staff, especially noting the friendliness of receptionists and activity coordinators who make residents feel welcomed and valued. Many reviews highlight the community's warm atmosphere, good cleanliness, and engaging activities such as birthday celebrations and social events that help residents stay connected and happy.

However, some concerns are also raised. One review points out issues with staff responses during emergencies, specifically mentioning a negative experience with a Wellness Coordinator who was perceived as abrupt and unhelpful when a resident was hurt. This reviewer worries about safety and the quality of care and indicates they might consider other options if improvements aren’t made. Another review mentions frustration with current health guidelines during the pandemic, feeling that some rules don’t make sense and affect family visits.

Overall, residents and visitors seem pleased with most aspects of the community, especially the friendly staff, good care, and variety of activities. The community offers a range of services like assisted living and memory care, with amenities such as chef-prepared meals, fitness programs, transportation, and social events. The management team appears dedicated to providing high-quality care, and the community has received awards and recognition for its performance. Nonetheless, attention to safety procedures and staff responsiveness in emergencies remains an area for potential improvement.

My mom lives there and is very happy with her routines. The staff continues to be amazing and supportive. Now if the county could only make guidelines that make sense. It’s safer for my whole family to come sit at one table with mom for a meal than to take her out to a restaurant where nobody is masked indoors and then bring her back, but those are the rules right now.

As a fitness professional I have a few clients living at different Belmont locations. At the Hollywood location, I'm always treated with respect and kindness; at the Burbank location, I'm quite horrified at how I was treated recently by the Wellness Coordinator (Diana) there. An incident occurred in which my client fell and her arm was bleeding, not profusely but enough to warrant a bandaid. Diana seemed quite annoyed when we asked her for one ( even though she had said she was leaving the room to bring one back). She really didn't seem interested in helping and we are not happy. I'm giving three stars as the place is always clean and there are some good people there such as Kim at the front/ lobby and David who oversees activities. I'm not pleased with how I was treated. Diana was abrupt and curt with me and the guy who looks about the machines there was also quite abrupt with me. I will update this review within the near future as we wait to see if Belmont cares enough about their residents and their reputation. If nothing is done, then safety is not considered top priority there and we will have to look further into how we can protect ourselves and the residents better.

The receptionist warmly greeted us and even remembered us after not seeing each other for many months. Also, Michelle took the time to chat with us even hough she was very busy. A fellow was playing the piano which added such a warm inviting atmosphere.

Today I attended a September birthday celebration for my sister and other residents from “the neighborhood”. Emily Lomax, the memory coordinator, and her team (PALS, kitchen crew etc.) did a wonderful job of making it a festive celebration. Everyone was very friendly and kind. It was also nice to be able to chat with family members of other residents. Emily and the PALS helped initiate conversation, too.
