The community here at Silverado Newport Mesa became a home for my mother. After trying to age in place for 4 years and then the sudden death of my step father - we needed a place for mom (with advancing Alzheimer’s) My search led me here. Silverado home is an open floor plan, with fountains, gazebo and gardens. You smell cookies baking. Light and airy decor with weekly fresh floral arrangements evokes a welcoming spirit. Inside, my mom is supervised with a 24 hour nursing staff that is kind, caring and professional. The caregivers assigned to my mom are angels, I cannot state just how lovely they are. In my experience, all the staff and especially the caregivers here are highly trained in dementia care. It takes a village to turn a dementia care facility into a home for residents to thrive in. I have so much gratitude to all caregivers, the culinary team, activities team, housekeeping, laundry, administrative, maintenance, everyone! My mom has been living here for just over a year now. While my mother is fighting this disease, she is surrounded by caring professionals here at Silverado Newport Mesa that treat her with respect, love and dignity. I couldn’t be happier with Silverado. When I visit my mother here, I am happy to just be a daughter again.
After an extensive and emotional search for the right memory care facility for my husband, I am deeply grateful to have found Silverado Newport Mesa Memory Care Community. When I walked through the doors for my initial tour, I felt a sense of comfort, relief and reassurance that I had found a place that truly understands the needs of those living with dementia – and the emotional journey that loved ones go through alongside of them. The staff at Silverado are not just professional – they are incredibly kind, compassionate, patient and attentive. Every single employee and volunteer at Silverado consistently treat my husband with dignity, respect and genuine care. They always maintain a calm, positive and cheerful demeanor, always accompanied by a smile. The facility itself is clean, secure and thoughtfully designed for both safety and independence and evokes a warm home-like atmosphere. The indoor and outdoor communal areas provide peaceful spaces for residents and the environment always feels positive and engaging. I especially appreciate the communication from the staff. They keep me updated regularly and I always feel welcome to visit or call with questions. Silverado Newport Mesa also provides tremendous support for the loved ones of the residents. They always ask me how I’m doing and offer up the best hugs if needed. I also feel incredibly fortunate to be a part of their weekly support group. It has helped me navigate the Silverado community and has provided me with the emotional support I never knew I needed. This group has become a safe place to share experiences, access guidance and make new connections. Though moving my husband to a facility was one of the most difficult decisions of my life, I feel peace knowing that my husband is in a place where he is cared for and valued. I would wholeheartedly recommend Silverado Newport Mesa to any family navigating the deeply personal and challenges of memory care.
Silverado has the best family feel of any place I’ve seen for senior living. There’s a very sincere vibe that permeates the entire staff and community. They are attentive and kind to all the residents and their family members/friends. The animals/pets are delightful and having them there makes all the difference in the world as far as I’m concerned. 🙏❤️🐈⬛
I have had the pleasure of touring this building recently. First thing I noticed was how engaged and active the residents were. People were out and about and the community felt bright and home like. Heather and the team seem to be ready to greet people as they walk through the doors. As someone in the senior industry it is always nice to see communities that take such pride in quality of life as well as quality of care. I look forward to visiting again.
This beautiful Memory Care facility is an amazing place for families looking for a place for the loved ones to call home. All staff along with the amazing Activity Director Michelle & coordinators staff always have great, fun ongoing activities for the residents. I'm very impressed by the high level of care and personal attention they have with all of the residents which makes this place very special. -Sandra
