117 East 8th Street, Long Beach, CA 90813
The community appears to be a place with both very positive and very negative reviews. Many residents and families praise the community for its beautiful setting, amenities, and engaging activities. Several reviews mention stunning views, spacious private rooms, and a variety of activities like games, movies, arts and crafts, and group outings that help residents stay active and social. Families feel that staff are caring and that residents are treated well, with some saying staff go above and beyond to make residents feel comfortable and loved. The community also offers amenities such as a rooftop deck, on-site café, physical therapy, and close access to hospitals, making it convenient and enjoyable for residents.
However, some reviews paint a very different picture. One person strongly criticizes the facility, accusing staff of laziness, poor care, and a lack of concern for residents' well-being. They mention many residents passing away, with no explanation or proper attention from staff. Rudeness from staff members, a dismissive attitude, and neglect are highlighted as serious issues. This review also expresses frustration with management and staff’s lack of support and calls for staff reforms. It suggests that residents and their families are neglected and that the community is primarily motivated by money rather than care.
Overall, the community has a reputation for offering a beautiful, engaging environment with many amenities and caring staff, according to most reviews. But there are concerns about neglect, poor supervision, and staff attitude from some residents and family members. It's clear that experiences can vary widely, with many residents and families feeling satisfied, while a few describe serious issues related to care quality and staff professionalism.

Gorgeous Community, the views are spectacular. The care staff & amenities offered are phenomenal. The activities organized are more than enough to keep their residents active & smiling.
This is the worst facility in the world the med techs are lazy the administrative is slow and the leads in charge need to be fired !! From the staff members to the head people in charge they need to be fired and replaced these people don’t care about those residents they care about they checks and that’s it , they don’t help with at all the reason people keep passing away there is because by the time they realize the patient isn’t doing well they have to go to the hospital why is it that so many people die here ? Nobody wants to say anything about that ? The receptionist is rude and her attitude makes her ugly . She doesn’t greet people when they come in the door isn’t that your job to greet people ? That’s all you do is sit and greet people so why come to work if your attitude is gonna be horrible also the people drop like flies here and nobody cares , they don’t treat the residents good at all . Also The people who are the leads are rude and they don’t spend time with those people they literally come to work for there checks also , they don’t help there staff with nothing the people who work here don’t even wanna work here because they don’t help them at all . The residents are not happy here and there families don’t come and check on them is the sadder part not just that but they don’t even make the residents feel at home they throw them in there and let everybody else figure it out soon as someone dies another one is coming in like clock work . They don’t report signs and symptoms by the time they notice a change it’s to lateee . They don’t care about any of the residents or the staff from the receptionist to leads to HR everybody need to be reviewed. Don’t put your love ones here at all find another place don’t waste your money don’t put your family in this facility they are all here for one thing and that’s the money .
My grandma was there for 9 months until she passed. While she was there the employees were so kind to her, they’d visit her in her room, sit with her at lunch when she was alone. When the time came and she passed this place incredible. The accommodations they made would have made my grandma so happy, because she would of had the same hospitality. They may not be the cheapest but they’re worth every penny. They made her feel comfortable her entire stay, and when it was my family that needed the comfort, they went above and beyond to make sure our needs were meant without having to even ask. Thank you Regency Palms for loving her like we did!
My mother-in-law was one of the first residents to move into Regency Palms. She even got to cut the ribbon at their extravagant grand opening ceremony. She loves living there and is always proud to show visitors the elegant amenities and her room. The staff is wonderful, the food is delicious, and the activities and field trips are delightful. I highly recommend Regency Palms. I wish I could live there, too.
My brother had medical emergency and was hospitalized then transferred to a nursing home. I made arrangements to move him to the Regency Palms Long Beach (RPLB) with the help of Executive Director, Carla Mariano. RPLB has the best staff caring for its residents. It also has a very good arrangements with Excel Home Care. The good care and physical therapy provided to my brother created an miracle. My brother, from wheelchair bound when he moved into RPLB in April, could walk again in 3 months. He moved back to his house after staying at RPLB from April till the end of June. RPLB has a very good facility, excellent staff, and a very professional Executive Director.
