Ivy Park at Studio City offers senior living that combines natural surroundings with modern amenities. The community provides services for assisted living and memory care, focusing on personalized care to help residents stay as independent and fulfilled as possible. The community emphasizes outdoor spaces and activities designed to nourish both the body and mind.
Reviews highlight mixed experiences. Many families praise the caring and attentive staff, noting that some caregivers are truly compassionate and responsive, especially in assisted living. For example, one family appreciated how staff helped their father adapt to his changing needs and how the team communicated well with them over many years.
However, negative reviews point to serious issues. Some residents in memory care are confined upstairs most of the day, with little variety in activities. Complaints include poor food quality, a lack of engagement for residents, and management that doesn't respond to concerns. One family shared a very negative experience, mentioning that their loved one gained weight due to poor diet and inactivity, and that staff sometimes treated residents poorly.
Another review raised concerns about staff behavior, saying some workers were loving while others were rude or strict. There were also mentions of a high staff turnover, inconsistent care, and management that didn't listen to complaints. To protect loved ones, some families even suggested installing cameras to monitor staff behavior.
On the positive side, some reviews mention that certain staff members are outstanding, going above and beyond to care for residents. One family said their loved one received excellent care over many years, including good communication and quality meals. They also praised staff responsible for activities, beauty services, and maintenance.
Overall, Ivy Park has both strong points and notable drawbacks. The community has caring staff members and attractive facilities, but experiences can vary widely. Families considering Ivy Park should weigh the positive testimonials for compassionate care against the negative reviews about management and programming for residents with memory loss.

My Father has been a resident for over a year now. Your Caretakers have always been attentive, caring and supportive. At first when he came, he needed quite a bit of care and help. After a few months I was able to ask for him to be re-rated since he was now eating on his own, able to transfer and using his walker. His care cost came down a little which has been a huge help. The experienced staff is a huge reason why he is comfortable at Ivy Park.
My dad lived at Ivy Park Studio City for a little over 5 weeks and has since passed away. He was located on their memory care floor. Overall, our experience was very positive. The caretakers directly involved in my dad’s care were all very kind, capable, responsive and responsible. My dad really liked the staff as well. The private rooms and common areas were clean and the food seemed great. The whole facility is secure and the grounds are very well maintained.
We unfortunately had an extremely poor experience with Ivy Park. Our family member (Ivy Park Resident) was 72 with significant memory loss but with complete independence where hygiene and general self-care is concerned. She needs no assistance with bathing or getting dressed but does require a companion when leaving the facility. During her 7 months at Ivy Park, she gained over 20lbs due to poor quality food and virtually no physical activity. Ivy Park places their residents in front of the big screen TV to watch MSNBC for 6-8 hours per day. Ivy Park has a one-size fits all approach towards memory care. Memory care residents are trapped on the third floor for 80% of the day and cannot leave the floor without a dedicated attendant. Their program does not vary between non-verbal inactive residents and high-energy, active residents with memory loss. Our family member was bullied by management so we had to find a less toxic living environment. Management had non interest in hearing our complaints and did not reply to emails, letters, or in-person visits. Residents are purely viewed as profit centers. Our experience at The Village Sherman Oaks has been infinitely better.
My Mom lived here for 10 months, April 2023 to February 2024. I believe every senior living center will have the best of reviews and the worst. It's just the nature of this business. Some of the workers are pure angels, doing the work they love. And many hate their job and hate the tenants. All senior living centers roll out the red carpet and treat you like gold, especially on move-in day. Then reality hits. I highly recommend you install a camera without telling anyone. Again, some workers are angels and others just militant evil control freaks. They remind me of those evil baby-sitters. You just have to catch them on camera. The food is horrible, just the worst. No matter how many times they tell they are making improvements, it is not good. Maybe 1 or 2 meals out of the month will be good. My mom was not without her faults and required compassion and patients, but some workers forget that this the motto of Ivy Park; "to be compassionate and patient". No matter how many times we brought this to the attention of the management, even with eye-witnesses (that just couldn't believe how they to spoke to mom), nothing changed. I think everyone of these types of business' is just like the next...so Best of luck!
My mom lived at Sunrise for the past 14 years until her passing a couple weeks ago. I want to thank all the Sunrise team for taking such good care of her during her life there and especially during this past year when it became increasingly difficult to do so. The Wellness office has been outstanding! Aprille, Clifton, Erica, Jinky, Rosario and all others whose names I have missed have been exceptional in communication and staying on top of her care as her needs changed. The caregivers, under the guidance of Paloma, have been kind and patient while administering to my mom's daily necessities. This is not an easy job and in my opinion, there is a need for a greater ratio of caregivers to residents at all assisted living facilities. Given this, the caregivers at Sunrise were wonderful with my mom and she was given the attention she needed with compassion. They knew she liked to have her lipstick on and her hair combed every time she went to the dining room or to an activity! Also a big thanks to Chef Roy. My mom always had a good appetite and would take a long time to finish all her meals because she really enjoyed them! Lastly thanks to the executive director Sean for helping me through some tough times and also to Vic, for staying on top of maintenance there. And to Eva, who kept my mom looking her best at Our Beauty Parlour. Throughout these past 14 years, I have seen many people come and go, both residents and team members. Sunrise has been like another family for me and for my mom. Keep up the good work!
