Sunrise of West Hills is truly a Godsend! We have had my wife's parents live there for a little over a year, and we have been absolutely amazed by the loving care, expertise, and great attention they have received. This facility is truly a cut above the rest, and we couldn't be happier with our choice to have them live there. Very grateful to all the staff at Sunrise for making this transition in life as easy and painless as possible, and knowing that our parents are getting the best care possible. We sleep well at night knowing that they are in good hands!

I just cannot say enough about all of the employees at the Ivy Assisted living facility on Topanga Cyn in West Hills. Everyone there has treated my mom like she is a family member. They all help her in any way that they can. My mom has a small dog that means the world to her. All of the employees take turns walking her and just making sure that her dog is well taken care of too. Whenever I go to visit my mom everyone is always very pleasant and is always willing to answer any questions that I may have. This will be her 3rd year here and we just keep seeing wonderful people helping her all the time.

We looked at 12 different facilities before choosing Ivy Park at West Hills. Our decision ultimately came down to the staff. Each and every person is incredibly caring and supportive, friendly and respectful. And they carry out their duties with extreme professionalism. All of my mother’s needs have been faithfully met at all times. We sleep easy each night knowing she is being so well taken care of, and it truly feels like she is in the trusted hands of family. I recommend Ivy Park at West Hills without any hesitation!

After researching several different long-term care facilities—focusing on cleanliness, staff attentiveness, safety, and overall morale—we ultimately chose Ivy Park @ West Hills, and we are so grateful we did. From the moment we first walked in, we felt a genuine sense of warmth and community. The size of the facility was just right—not too large to feel impersonal, but big enough to offer great care and support. The staff were incredibly welcoming, which immediately put our minds at ease during a difficult time. We were nervous about transitioning our mother, but the staff at Ivy Park @ West Hills made the move smooth and positive. They were attentive, patient, and always willing to find a solution to any issue that arose. Lidia C. Executive Director stood out in particular—her professionalism, responsiveness, and genuine concern for our mother’s wellbeing made all the difference. She was always kind, timely, and thoughtful in her communication. Salvador, our mother’s medical technician, quickly earned her trust. He showed patience, engaged her in friendly conversation, and always made her feel secure and cared for. It’s rare to find someone with such a natural ability to connect on both a medical and personal level. From the very beginning, the team made our mother & family feel like part of the Ivy Park @ West Hills family. Whether it was Susan, Mariah, Rosie, Maria, Ramona, the kitchen Chef or others on the team, every interaction was filled with care, respect, and a friendly smile. They greeted visiting family and friends by name, making everyone feel welcomed and known. As our mother’s health declined and hospice care became necessary, the staff continued to go above and beyond. In what was one of the most emotionally difficult times for our family, they ensured she received the best care possible and supported us every step of the way. We were never made to feel uncomfortable, unwelcomed, or rushed—on the contrary, we were surrounded by kindness and compassion. Our family will never forget the care, comfort, and dignity West Hills gave to our mom in her final chapter. We wholeheartedly recommend this facility to anyone looking for a loving and supportive long-term care home for their loved one. On behalf of the Castillo Family, thank you Ivy Park @ West Hills

UPDATE: Our mother lived here for about 2.5 years and unfortunately died here. I wanted to update my original review since Sunrise (the original home she moved into was purchased by Ivy Park after about 6 months of her move in date) Ivy Park is the complete opposite of what we wanted for our Mom. Once they took over, everything went downhill FAST! Almost all of the original staff left and most of the new hires were very young, undertrained, underpaid individuals that were in over their heads. My mother was in no position to be moved unfortunately, but most of the original residents I knew had been moved out by their families. It was very clear the new owners only cared about making money and not the residents well being. I spent almost every day at Ivy Park looking after my mother and advocating for her when she was no longer able to herself. I want to make clear that the staff did the best they could and this is not a review about anyone personally, this is about the corporation that owns Ivy Park. They took an amazing home for our loved ones to live out the remainder of their lives and turned it into an institution that only cares about money. I would never recommend Ivy Park to anyone. We looked at many different places for our Mom in the West Valley and they could not compare to Sunrise West Hills, we knew immediately this is the place Mom needed to be! The facility itself is gorgeous and comforable with many different areas for residents to sit, play games, listen to music, watch movies, including a beautiful room with a fireplace and piano. The food is amazing (my husband and I have eaten here many times with my Mom and are always delighted by the many daily choices and quality of the food), they even have room service! They have many different daily activies from chair Zumba, to a walking club, movie nights, family brunches, Yoga, they even have live entertainment. The care is top notch and you can tell all the employees actually love their jobs and care about their residents like they are their own family members. My Mother had a really hard time when she had to move from her home of over 50 years into a care facility and the staff at Sunrise made this transistion so much easier for her. She now says daily that she is so happy and loves her new home and new friends. I HIGHLY recommend Sunrise West Hills to anyone who has a loved one that needs assisted living, they are truly the best!
