The representative was very friendly, answered all my questions, and provided me a packet with detailed information about the facility and programs. We toured the facility, which was clean, bright, and impressive. Had an opportunity to talk to some of the residents prior to the meeting; they had favorable things to say about their experiences. Everyone seemed relaxed and comfortable.
We toured the village at Sherman Oaks in September 2023. Philip was an extremely helpful, compassionate, informative host. He answered every question we had, and helped us get a deeper sense of what life would be like at the village for my mom. The staff are friendly and welcoming, the activity list and menus look terrific. I’m hoping my 88-year-old mom will ultimately decide to join this welcoming community.
I want to thank and compliment Elizabeth on her thorough and informative tour. Given that it can be an emotionally difficult time negotiating this stage in life, it helped to have Elizabeth and the rest of the staff I encountered be so available and friendly.
The ZEST Activities Team at The Village at Sherman Oaks, led by Molly Middleton Meyer, creates a vibrant, engaging environment for the all the residents - residents who are some of the most brilliant, thoughtful, creative people I've ever met. Molly and her team bring out the best in each of these amazing people every single day. My father moved here from Knoxville, Tennessee, in June and he absolutely loves and looks forward to participating in the many interesting offerings, especially the live concerts, poetry classes, and, of course, BINGO! What truly sets this community apart is how Molly and her ZEST team bring warmth and personal attention to every resident and each activity. They've created a wonderful balance of intellectual stimulation, creative expression, and pure fun that keeps the residents active and connected. With the support of Molly and her team, my dad has even started a Discussion Group, which has been a wonderful way for him to connect with other amazing, active people who share similar experiences. Molly's background in poetry and creative writing really shines through in the programming, and her genuine care for each resident is evident in everything she does. It's incredible to see how she manages to give individualized attention to everyone while maintaining such a full calendar of engaging activities. I have been singing their praises since June. If you're looking for a senior living community that truly understands the importance of staying active, creative, and socially connected, the ZEST Activities Team at The Village at Sherman Oaks is outstanding. They're not just planning activities - they're creating a feeling of family by sharing meaningful experiences that enhance residents' lives every day.
Management is curt, bordering on rude. Their ED just left, creating a gaping hole in what was a mediocre community. The building has a patina of filth. Overall, it’s clear SRG is operating on the margins here, trying to get by with a minimum that their clientele won’t notice and that the families will excuse. Best to look elsewhere. Many other locations that are newer and cleaner and more friendly.
