Valley Vista Senior Living

I started out very optimistic about my moving into Valley Vista, but in the time that I have been here, I've seen services and response times take a severe nose dive. This facility has become not only senior assisted living, but a kind of halfway house for the homeless sponsored by some half baked initiative by the City of Los Angeles. This has however solidified my stance on how to deal with homelessness. They need treatment. Not places to disrespect with poor hygiene and unacceptable behavior. Now the hallways reek of marijuana, and there has been panhandling at the elevators and just today a fight broke out between two of the new "residents." There is zero security on the premises. This place is woefully understaffed, and wait times are excessive. Pretty early on, I realized that if I needed anything because of lack of caregivers, I was on my own. Residents are now being asked to stand in line to receive their medication. The housekeeping staff is extremely English challenged, and the caregivers are being run ragged. People who genuinely loved their jobs when I first started look burned out and frazzled. I did not sign up to live in fear or chaos, nor live with residents who smell like a pot dispensary. I shouldn't have to empty a can of air freshener in the hallway. This is turning into a flophouse and it's disrespectful to the people who pay a substantial amount of money to be here, not to mention the senior population feeling fearful for their safety. It may look nice at first glance, but when you really get in here, then you feel like you've been betrayed. The only reason I'm still here is because a dear friend I have made is in hospice and I have vowed to be here until such time she is no longer here. I cannot in all good conscience recommend Valley Vista at this time. I hope that Valley Vista will listen to its residents and make aggressive changes for the better, and to help people who want to pollute the air we breathe here find other accommodations sooner rather than later. I doubt that they will.

We moved my mom from the East Coast to the West Coast. We found Valley Vista, but only called a few places and knew VV was the one. Every single person who works there is professional and calm. Moving your parent across the country is scary, but we know shes in good hands and loves the food! It feels like a resort, not an Assisted Living Facility, and I hope this will be my mom's last home.   We are still trying to learn the ropes, but if you ask someone, they will get you the answer and are willing to help.  Thank you for all the hard work, cleanliness, love, and care you are giving my mom. *update, the buikding has been resold, the new Director is wonderful! Great at communication to the families. She's just what VVSL needed! All the aides, med techs, FD staff, etc. Are all wonderful head of nursing cares alot. The resident coordinator goes above and beyond .

In April of 2023, I made the agonizing decision that it was time to place my mother in a memory care facility. Valley Vista is beautiful, safe, and there are activities going on all day long. The ENTIRE staff are authentically kind and helpful and it is quite obvious that they deeply care about all the residents and their families. I toured many places and finally decided on Valley Vista Senior Living because of Gabi. I met with three different sales/marketing people at three different facilities and Gabi was the only one who actually listened to me as I sat across from her in tears. After our initial meeting, she didn't harass me with phone calls like the other people. Instead, she gave me my space, understanding that this was going to be a very difficult decision for me. Once I was ready to move my mom, Gabi held my hand every step of the way. Reassuring me and letting me know what to expect. My mom has been at Valley Vista for a month now, and is doing better than I ever could have expected. We love visiting her, and our 9 year old son has the best time hanging out and playing with all of "Grandma's new friends!" It is a beyond difficult decision to make, moving a parent to assisted living/memory care facility, but with support from people like Gabi and the rest of the staff at Valley Vista, you will NOT be alone. Valley Vista is a beautiful location. My husband and I were looking for a place with options for care for my mother in law. We absolutely fell in love with valley vista, it is so beautiful. The building feels warm and inviting. The staff is friendly and very welcoming. Most importantly Gabi made us feel at ease and the whole process seamless. She was incredible to work with and extremely accommodating. The best thing is she takes such personal time in getting to know the residents. You can’t go wrong with choosing valley vista for your loved one, they will make your loved one feel at home and part of the valley vista family. I highly recommend it!
