Atria Newport Beach

Our dad moved to Atria shortly after losing our mom. While it wasn't what he wanted (he would have preferred to be in his own home with his wife!), Atria Newport Beach turned out to be the best place for our dad. He selected it after seeing a few other AL communities. Within a month of living there, he became actively involved with the residents' board and was elected president. He had "buddies" he ate with at every meal. Those same buddies added a wine tasting day once in a while which he thoroughly enjoyed. He never missed a workout class! It was a top priority for him. I always said to people that my dad is THRIVING at Atria. His passions were sailing and gardening - and of course, my mom. And at Atria NB, he got to see the harbor, where he spent over 50 years sailing, and he got to have a garden on his deck. He grew tomatoes, cucumbers, lettuces and whatever else he could. My sisters and I were the beneficiaries of Jerry's "Goat Hill Farm" produce! When he had a stroke and was failing, he got to go "home" to Atria where we could be with him and the entire staff welcomed him and cared wonderfully for him until he passed. His experience and his life at Atria was wonderful. We can't thank them enough or recommend them any higher. It truly was a gift!

My mom and I visited many different places before we picked Atria Newport Beach. From the moment we walked in we knew this place was special. The staff, the interior design, the restaurant and cafe - are all best in class. I would recommend this place to anyone and everyone. My friend has lived at Atria Newport Beach for over 2 years. It began with an invitation to stay at Atria for a vacation. She loved it so much that she never went home. Atria Newport Beach is styled like a 5 star resort with service to match. Each resident is a valued guest and they are treated with respect and genuine love. The food is delicious and the activities are top notch! The Atria Asst Director came to us a few months ago to voice concerns about the difficulty my friend was having living independently and that her increased dementia issues would be better served in their Memory Care facility next door. From that moment on Atria took care of everything from medical evaluation needed to qualify for Memory Care to facilitating the move itself. While we had lunch, all of her furniture and belongings were moved to the new building and set up so that it looked as much like her old apartment as possible. Pictures were hung and toiletries were arranged just the same in the bathroom. We anticipated some agitation and defiance with the move, but they skillfully coordinated it and were prepared to distract and redirect her so that the move was comfortable. One week later she is relaxed and happy in her new environment. The high level of care and the continual group participation in activities has been extremely beneficial to lessening her anxiety and promoting a new sense of wellbeing. She started a great new chapter of her life when she moved to Atria 2 years ago and now Atria has helped her seamlessly into the next chapter of her life. Through it all they handled all the details and did not make anything our problem. It was so comforting to know that we had professionals with so much experience in handling residents’ transition to memory care facilitating her move. We can’t thank Atria Management enough for their assistance. Atria Newport Beach independent living is the perfect place to start a journey when living at home becomes an issue. And they are so prepared to assist in future transitions to Assisted Living and/or Memory Care that there is peace for family and friends knowing that their loved ones will be well taken care of for the rest of their lives.

I could literally go on for days about how wonderful Atria Newport Beach is. This is not assisted living like your parents scared you about. Atria Newport Beach is like a full-service five-star hotel/apartment complex discreetly offering elder care support as needed, as well as amazing food and beautifully planned events and activities...but this isn't what sets it apart. This place is full of people with the most enormous hearts. My mother was incredibly challenging to care for, and every last person -- from the directors to care staff to the concierge and the restaurant servers -- interacted with her with grace and patience. This place is not a facility, it's a community that wraps its residents in love. My mom passed away a few weeks ago after spending the last year of her life here, and part of my grief is the realization that I will not get to see the folks at Atria on a regular basis anymore. Without doubt, Atria Newport Beach should be at the top of the list for anyone considering residential care options for a loved one in Orange County.

Atria Newport Beach is a spectacularly beautiful senior living facility. It looks more like a world class hotel, and has an amazing collection trained staff who expertly provide all the comforts of home with joy, kindness and respect. It has set a new standard in the senior living arena to a whole new level.
