My husband is there in the memory care part. Each caregiver and LVN are truly angels, the way they treat each Individual resident. When I leave I know I am leaving him in good hands. We are so fortunate that there are places like this. They truly all care.

First of all the previous employees or care givers should be ashamed of themselves. You are witness to the horrible conditions, abuse, and discrimination. I have been going over these reviews and you never took the time to properly and formerly file a complaint. Numerous discrimination and abuse cases against the elderly and disabled. Not to mention the H.I.P.A.A. law violations. For instance I'm researching a case on a former patient. An employee at this facility was claiming the patient on their taxes as a dependent. People the State of California has Department of Social Security to report these cases to. OMBUDSMAN is another long term care resident advocate. They listen to residents' complaints, investigate problems, and find resolutions. A California licensed care facility can never deny an advocate these important agency numbers. NEVER. If they do find a personal injury/ discrimination lawyer. Take pictures of your loved ones, keep records and be an advocate for them don't just rely on the devils working here. You are allowed to keep cameras in your loved ones room. You are allowed to ask questions. I'll say it again... it's a California licensed care facility. People have to go through a background check. They have no grounds to question your concerns.

It badly needs a review board, sponsored by its residents, that will ensure it is quality and a positive outcomes. Currently, this administration is not truly open to suggestions...by its residents... The food is of poor quality, and the support staff are often understaffed. Residents often go without assistance... I currently rate this facility 3 out of five stars...

My belief is anyone placing their family member in a facility wants to be reassured they will be taken care of, including providing a well balanced meal. After working at this facility as a caregiver, I honestly wonder why the health department has not been contacted. The roaches are as big as my pinky finger, the food is horrible, causing the residents to have diarrhea all the time. When certain foods are served we know as caregivers we will be extremely busy cleaning the residents throughout the night. Waking them up at 11,1,3,5 am, or at least checking them. Which is a normal schedule for incontinent residents . So it’s imperative these residents are changed as much as possible. One resident is a danger to himself and the staff, threatening them, yelling, screaming, cussing because he’s being checked. Yet the facility will not remove him. He has numerous complaints from staff about his behavior. The residents who are cognitive can live in their apartment as they choose. Their room temps are set at 80 degrees, extremely hot when providing care for a residents who’s weight is bigger than normal, or cleaning mounds of diarrhea. Literally you will pass out from the heat, and the smell of their room. Housekeeping does a poor job, aesthetically the place looks clean, but it’s not clean. Some of the residents do not belong there, but because they are cash paying residents they are allowed to stay. Those totally dependent, unable to do anything for themselves. Caregivers are trained in how to move residents properly. These residents abuse, attack and make the caregivers job impossible to do, because they want to control and tell the caregiver how to provide care to them, putting the caregiver at risk for back injuries as well as the residents. Management allows this. These residents really should be given a higher level of care, such as a Skilled Nursing Facility. Do your homework, research when placing your loved one in any facility. It’s a lot of hard work caring for residents, and when a facility is short staffed that makes the caregivers job even more difficult to provide the level of care they deserve. Most facilities are short staffed too. Consider what’s important to you when deciding to place a loved one.

Love this place! Yes, it’s good BUT they cannot get moms scheduled shower days correct. In her chart it says she’s supposed to have a shower twice a week by a female shower person. For 8 months, we have delt with this issue, often times mom going 2 weeks without a shower. I have called numerous times and spoken with administrators about this and still nothing has been done! I have traveled over 42 miles to give mom a shower when she needed one. The organization there is severely lacking. Once they get their act together, consistently, I will post a more favorable review. Over 3 years ago I traveled many miles to find a proper retirement center for mom. I picked this place since they were top notch although, they are severely lacking in many areas at this time. New admin. Do not have it together. It’s my hopes they will improve. Please help!
