Oakmont of Whittier is a new, fancy senior living community that offers assisted living and memory care. The website highlights its luxurious amenities, beautiful grounds, personalized care from trained staff, tasty dining options, spacious apartments, and fun activities for residents. They emphasize a vibrant, supportive environment focused on independence, wellness, and happiness.
Some reviews are very positive. One person loves how the inside and courtyard look and thinks her grandma will enjoy living there. She appreciates the friendly tour guide and plans to visit regularly. Another reviewer appreciates the new, attractive facility, easy parking, friendly staff, and convenient location near shops and restaurants. They say the care team is respectful and that the waiting list is long, which shows demand for the community.
However, there are serious concerns raised by other reviews. One review warns about poor care for a family member in the memory care unit, mentioning that the care was terrible and there were billing issues. Another reviewer describes management as horrible and accuses staff of stealing residents' belongings. They also complain that cameras aren't allowed, making it hard to know what’s really happening, and say that the staff can’t give clear explanations about incidents. This review also claims that many positive reviews might be fake or influenced by friends or management, especially since one negative review was taken down.
A brief, positive comment mentions quick responses to questions, but overall, the reviews show a mixed picture. While Oakmont offers luxurious living and friendly staff according to some, concerns about the quality of care, honesty, and management’s integrity are also evident. Prospective families should carefully investigate and consider these different perspectives before making a decision.

I just love how amazing the inside and the courtyard is looking for Oakmont and I think my grandma Margaret is going to love living here to begin her next chapter. I will be planning on visiting with my grandma on Wednesdays when I'm free. Of course, I like to call her Nanny Banani. Thank you for the tour, Debra!
I would urge you to find somewhere else if you want your loved one to have safe and competent care. My father's experience in the memory care area was horrendous. Plus they were charging for things they weren't doing. It all looks nice from the outside, but trust me, the care is sorely lacking.
New and beautiful facility. Seen from street and ample parking. If full park next door by yogurt and Fed Ex just NOT in for customers only designated parking spots. Across from mall and restaurants. Staff very friendly and very respectful to residents and guests. One public restroom in main lobby and another by kitchen. Alziemers sections is locked and has its own kitchen and public restroom for guests. waiting list for potential residents is long but worth it.
Horrible management, and the staffs over there steals people’s stuff. They don’t allow you to put any cameras, so you will never know what’s going on with the resident there, and they can’t tell you what happened since they have Alzheimer. So basically, this place is very shady and when you want to complain, they never response back. People who gave five stars to this place they are either non-resident here or they are the management’s friends that told to help them make this place looks nice, I know because my previous one-star review got deleted.
