For example, families have been thankful for the compassionate care shown during health crises, such as strokes and end-of-life care. Residents enjoy social activities like dining, outings, physical therapy, and special events that promote a lively and engaging atmosphere. The community also offers amenities like an indoor pool, fitness center, theater, and walking paths to keep residents active and entertained.
However, there have been some concerns raised about certain aspects. One negative review criticizes the dinner service, citing cold food and unprofessional appearance of waitstaff, including dirty uniforms and personal grooming issues. The reviewer feels that staff should receive better training and pay, and that residents deserve respectful treatment during meals.
Overall, many reviews highlight the community’s dedication to personalized care, beautiful setting, and vibrant social life. The staff’s kindness and the well-maintained environment make it a desirable place for seniors to live comfortably and maintain independence. Meanwhile, addressing the dining concerns could improve the experience even more.

There are a few good staff member but the place is extremely understaffed. It’s frustrating and dangerous for people who are there precisely to get care - to have eyes on them, make sure they get showered and live in a decent environment, keep family informed. The food is good and plentiful and there are opportunities for a good social experience. But the place suffers because it’s too big and has a skeleton staff. I don’t know if that’s because they’re trying to be profitable for their owners or they can’t find good people. But there are ways to overcome understaffing - like paying more and training people and making the job a good place to work - and none of that is happening. Our family was there a LOT and we squeaked when the wheel needed grease - so if you’re far away, I think you can expect your loved one to be left to their own devices. Our loved one was mostly ignored and if she said she didn’t want a shower or to have her room cleaned at a given moment, they’d go away and not come back. They neglected to assess her for physical therapy upon checkin, for months, and despite her doctor’s prescription - until we pestered them for it. And something unforgivable: once when she was hospitalized, the facility never called her family. When they didn’t get an answer to one phone call, they’d just stopped trying. We were told, “we can’t expect the staff to go down the list” of primary and secondary contact persons. A list of two was too long for them to try to reach us! Days later they still had not notified us. Think twice about this facility.
We specifically chose Parkplace because of location and physical beauty of the building and setting - also that all levels of care are in one building. The quality of the staff and their ability to remain professional and interact informally with residents was a pleasant surprise. The activities and celebrations are numerous and varied, but needed alone times are respected.
Park Place is an extraordinary place! My mother has lived here for 5 years and the activities, personnel at Park Place, the beautiful location has made my mom’s life so much more rewarding. The personnel are very special, putting a lot of heart into what they do. The daily activities are providing my mom with social, mental and physical stimulus. I feel she’s in a safe and caring home!!
My mother has lived at the community for 9 months and i can’t say enough good things about it. After spending her whole life on the east coast, we convinced her to move closer to us. The staff has made the transition incredibly easy. They are all extremely warm and caring and helpful, from the front desk to the dining staff to the nursing care. Even maintenance and housekeeping. The programs are rich and varied, the facility is a high-rise and it feels more active than most I’ve been in - great central location, active lobby, daylit dining room - and the pool is a nice amenity. Page is a hands-on director, personable and accessible and she sends out regular communications to the residents and family. Holidays are festive, outings are frequent and the free shuttle service is excellent for market runs or doctor visits. Many residents have lived here for years and it really does feel like a community. Thanks for making the transition to a retirement community a breeze!
Our mother moved from out of state to Assisted Living at Parkplace in October 2022. We cannot express our appreciation and gratitude enough to all of the staff, as they all play a large part in making this facility amazing. The staff in assisted living were like family and our mother adored each and everyone of them. They took excellent care of her and she enjoyed talking with them and learning their stories and about their families. When she suffered a stroke this past April and transitioned to Hospice Care, the Assisted Living staff stepped in, arranged for hospice care and made it possible for us to bring her home from the hospital. Together with an amazing hospice team, Brookdale's staff was with us every day helping in any way possible to make her final days comfortable and peaceful. Mom was 98 years old and thoroughly enjoyed her time at Parkplace. She made several friends, enjoyed her neighbors and felt very comfortable and safe in her apartment. She never complained about anything, she enjoyed the meals in the dining room, physical therapy in the gym, shopping on Fridays and several excursions to events around town. The Administrative staff, Finance staff, front desk folks, and all those behind the scenes running this facility are to be commended for what they do on a daily basis to keep this facility running so smoothly. We would highly recommend Brookdale Parkplace to anyone in need of senior living in Denver!
